As students approach graduation at North Hills Prep (NHP), we understand the importance of providing comprehensive options to facilitate a successful transition into the next phase of their lives. Our commitment to student success extends beyond the classroom, offering a range of programs and resources to empower their journey into adulthood.

Career Cruising
To assist students in identifying their occupational interests and training avenues, NHP utilizes Career Cruising. This online program provides assessments and resources, guiding students in exploring potential career paths and aligning their aspirations with suitable training options.

We Can Work Program
Starting at age 16, the We Can Work Program assists special education students with exploring the world of work. From providing pre-employment training which includes; developing a master job application, resume writing, interviewing skills, behavioral expectations/ conflict resolution skills on the job, and soft skills. We Can Work Program staff work with students to develop a plan that meets the interests, abilities, and aptitudes of individual students. The program provides paid work experience services for up to 100 hours each school year. This gives students the opportunity to earn a paycheck while developing skills that can translate to employment post-high school.

Recognizing the lifetime impact of disabilities, NHP collaborates with the Department of Rehabilitation. This lifelong program is dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities, offering services, advocacy, and pathways toward employment and independent living.

NHP’s Career day is an opportunity to invite local businesses and professionals to the campus to share their journey and how they became the person they are today. Colleges and trade programs are invited to share their campus offerings and path to admissions into their programs.

College and Vocational School Exploration
NHP facilitates field trips to local colleges and vocational schools for juniors and seniors, allowing students to explore various post-secondary education opportunities. These excursions provide firsthand insights into campus life, academic programs, and potential career paths. NHP also takes part in the on-line college fairs that have been made available in the past couple of years.

Application and Financial Aid Assistance
Recognizing the complexity of the application process, NHP offers dedicated support for students applying to colleges, vocational schools, or other educational programs. Our team assists with navigating applications and provides guidance on financial aid options, ensuring that financial considerations do not hinder educational pursuits. At NHP, we believe in empowering our students to make informed decisions about their future. By offering a multifaceted approach to post-graduation options, we hope to instill confidence and provide the necessary tools for a seamless transition into the next chapter of their lives.
