Shape Your Journey
The Help Group’s North Hills Prep (NHP) is committed to Relationship-Based Learning, specializing in meeting the unique requirements of students facing emotional and social challenges across grades K-12.
Accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, our school provides a nurturing environment for a diverse population of special education students. With licensed eligible therapists and fully credentialed teachers, we prioritize holistic development and comprehensive support.
In 2017, we adopted the Neurosequential Model of Education, enhancing our approach to cater to the specific needs of our students.
What Makes NHP Different
Established in 1992 and holding accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) since 1994, North Hills Prep has been dedicated to effectively serving Special Education students for over two decades. Beyond adhering to district guidelines in our successful academic program, we are deeply committed to nurturing the social, emotional, and behavioral development of each student.
We provide a wide variety of academic and enrichment experiences, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to embrace and explore their unique interests and capabilities. Upon arrival, students at North Hills Prep often experience feelings of frustration, invisibility, misunderstanding, and self-doubt. Many have lost confidence in themselves and in the value of education.
Our goal is to help each student rediscover enthusiasm for school, rebuild self-confidence through genuine achievements, and reinstate the value of education in their lives. We invest time in understanding the individuality of each student, actively engaging them in the school experience. We strive to prepare every student for a smooth transition into the adult world, whether that involves pursuing higher education, community college, vocational or technical training, as well as obtaining gainful employment.

Our son had been asked to not return to a number of schools, and we were out of choices for him. We found North Hills Prep and from the beginning they seemed to understand fully our son’s problems, behavioral issues and anger. Throughout the year our son made a miraculous recovery from not being able to sit in class and causing all kinds of behavioral problems, to being able to spend most of the day in class, and behaving much better both in school and home.

The Help Group’s North Hills Prep has aided my journey of middle school, to be able to confidently start high school. This upcoming school year, I’m leaving North Hills with the courage and determination to succeed in high school. At North Hills Prep, I truly found myself. I realized who I wanted to be, how I wanted to behave, and it’s sincerely because of the staff and peers that have accompanied me here. I’m so truly proud to say every staff member, currently or those who’ve moved on, have impacted me and so many students in such ways that’ll never be overturned. North Hills has become my home, my true support system, and I’m really sad to leave, but it’s thanks to North Hills Prep that I am leaving, that I’ve proved to change for the better, and I see my peers doing the same.
